Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless 1-1/2-Quart Saucepan with Cover Reviews
This product is exactly what we have been searching for. WE JUST LOVE IT. As long as you keep that in mind you will love this cookware. As a matter of fact we loved it so much that we purchased every single piece of Multiclad Pro Stainless that Cuisinart makes. As with all Stainless Steel you must adjust you cooking method to a lower heat setting. Heavy Duty, Easy to clean,Comfortable Handles and Tight fitting lids.
If I had known how good it was, I would have burnt the old pan much sooner. This saucepan takes less heat (can you say "green") to cook than any other one its size due to the construction bringing the heat up the sides. This pan replaced a burnt one. Get it. You won't regret it. Rice did not stick nor burn in it - even when I made 2 batches back to back with only wiping out the pan.
A successful transaction. The Cuisinart double boiler was received as promised and it works as described.
After only 2 weeks of minimal use, the pan has developed a crack around to top lip. Wonder where Amazon gets it's list price from and why they have the audacity to charge $70.14 and claim you are getting a 30% discount. Get to see how good Cuisinart's Warranty policy is. By the way, it should be noted that Cuisinart only charges $59.00 for this pan when purchased from their Web Site. This crack is now developing rust marks.
Most of the pot is brushed steel, so scratching is less of problem, although stainless steel needs care so it doesn't appear stained. Cuisinart claims that the pot is so super-conductive that your stove need never be set higher than medium; I'm used to aluminum, and this pot takes longer to boil on "high". I doubt very many will need to take advantage of the warranty, but I thought Cuisinart's effort to discourage warranty returns was noteworthy. In a bad way. Personally I don't care as long as it still works. This is a sturdy pot with, as a previous reviewer mentioned, a useless lid. Worth the money at Amazon's 75% discount.
With Amazon's low price it's not worth it even your pot comes without a handle or develops a hole, since Cuisinart might repair it, while Amazon will quickly send you a new one with less effort and little more money on your part. The pot has a lifetime warranty, but Cuisinart asks for a $7 check to "facilitate the speed and accuracy of your return" (apparently not applicable in CA) in addition to paying for shipping it to them. Since only the gross negligence of Cuisinart would result in a defective pot, this is an unacceptable requirement. The anti-drip lip seemed promising, but it takes skill, and of course doesn't work when you consciously try to avoid dribbling.
