This set of four 4-1/2-inch steak knives benefits from J.A. Henckels's 260 years in the cutlery business. They're made from high-grade, rolled stainless steel, produced using Henckels's own Sintermetal Component Technology. This process allows different grades of steel to be combined to form a single integral piece capable of withstanding extreme stress--each part of the knife is made from the grade of steel with the optimum characteristics for that component. Cutting edges feature a specially designed serration pattern, ensuring prolonged sharpness without resharpening. The full-length tang (meaning the metal continues all the way through to the end of the handle) gives you a better-balanced and stronger knife. The polypropylene handle with rustproof rivets is nearly indestructible. The knives are easy to hold. I ordered a second set. Once accomplished, the knives are great. The serated portion of the blade is small and at the tip. This takes some getting used to. Handles are thick.
Excellent value. They never dull, are nice looking, solidly made, and have the Henckels brand name on it. What more can you ask. We own ten of the Henckels Eversharp knives.
But a nicer, more permanent box would be nice. A bargain at the price. The knives are great, dishwasher safe, cut beautifully.
NEW INFO:. They come in a pack of 6 for three bucks. The serrations shred your food instead of cutting it. These are terrible, terrible knives. The handles are very cheap feeling and are not comfortable to use.
I found comperable knives (maybe even better) at IKEA. The tiny serrations also make the knives very difficult to clean and considering the name "Eversharp" they sure didn't seem very sharp. You will be better off keeping that cheapo set you bought at walmart years ago. I returned both sets the day after I tried them.
A waste of money. They rip the meat rather than slicing. I expected more from Henckels. These knives have a finely serrated edge that tears at the steak leaving pieces of meat hanging on the edge.
