The wood is a little bland, but it's in a drawer so who really sees it anyway. Excellent tray - finally enough slots for the basic silverware and an extra slot for the serving stuff.
My stupidity. I might try and put felt in the bottom and "dress it up" even further. It is well made and I have no complaints. What appears to be a tray covered in a light pink type felt is actually a light colored wood. I should have read the description more closely.
I would recommend buying a few other trays to hold random things like chopsticks or children's utensils. It is so clean and nice looking and fit all of my Crate and Barrel flatware pack. I love this.
Its very well made. The only drawback, which is obvious from the picture, is that it can not hold larger items such as spatulas, turners, slotted spoons etc. This tray works very well and is far more attractive than a typical plastic bin.
