Jiffy Steamer J-2000 Residential Series Garment Steamer

Jiffy J-2000 clothes steamer, 1300 watts, with plastic steam head. Similar to the J-2 model, but with updated design and ergonomics Quick 2-minute heat-up time, high-impact polymer outer housing, 1300 watt heating element die cast in solid brass, 50/60 Hertz electrical system, low profile, easy-to-handle water reservoir, new "no spill" check valve cap for easy filling, over 1.5 hours of steam per filling, color-coded high temperature wiring, fusible link with automatic shut-off for safety, 360 degree swivel casters for mobility, assembly wrench included. Made in the USA.

This sturdy, durable wand steamer presses wrinkles out of garments, drapes, and upholstery quicker and easier than an iron, and it doesn't "shine" or scorch fabrics like an iron can. Wand steamers are popular in the fashion and entertainment fields, where wardrobe crews must keep clothing immaculate while working quickly. This 1,300-watt steamer shoots high-velocity steam jets out of a 6-inch-wide head to smooth any fabric from sheer silk to thick wool. A removable water tank provides up to 90 minutes of steaming time. The steamer heats in a minute and then rolls to work on sturdy casters. Garments and drapes can be pressed where they hang, including closets, or garments can be hung from a loop atop the steamer's sturdy aluminum rod, which screws together to rise 62 inches above the floor. For storage, the rod has a holder for the wand.

Indicative of the steamer's quality is the brass fitting attaching the hose to the tank. (A wrench to tighten the fitting is included, and it has magnets for storage on the base.) Other features include an automatic safety shutoff if the steamer runs dry and a stay-cool wand handle. The steamer's plastic base measures 11 inches wide, 17 inches high, and 14-1/2 inches deep. The steamer carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Jiffy Steamer J-2000 Residential Series Garment Steamer Reviews

I have not burned myself but if you get careless you could. I've been using it for months now and our clothes never looked better. It's easy to assemble and use. It doesn't work well on heavy fabrics like denim but hey, no one is perfect. We are really happy with it. Don't use it with children around. I had the technique down by the fourth garment (mostly).

It can take wrinkles out of almost anything. If I had a pant press to go along with this, it would be the perfect combination. I really would like to use it on my dress pants as well, and sometimes I do, but in my experience, it tends to slightly soften the creases, so I'm very careful how I use it on my dress pants. I use it mainly for my dress shirts. It's especially useful for things like curtains and bedsheets that would be a MAJOR pain to iron.

It will save you a lot of money and works a lot better. If you can use an iron.do it. This is great for sensitive clothes.

I must also say that before purchasing the J-2000 I extensively read the reviews of those who purchase it on amazon before me. Directions for use easy as well fill the tank plug it in flip it on and in a few minuted you have steam. The pants were a little tricker for me until I came upon the idea of steaming the pants upside down, [hanging from the cuffs instead of the waist] and it was even quicker to steam than the shirt. Other than that I give the J-2000 5 stars and if you buy it you wont be dissapointed.

This product is amazing I would recommend it to anyone who wants an affordable hassle free means of steaming and or ironing there clothes; this beats labouring over an ironing board any day. Assembly was straight foward and easy not much needed. I guess my only drawback with the steamer is not the steamer itself but the fact that to really steam my pants so that the pleats show i would need to pony up another $100 for some sort of hanging steaming board. Now the fun part for me is how quick and easy it is to steam my shirts.

It's basically two passes over with the steamer for the front and back each and thats its.wrinkles gone, smooth clean steamed clothes wthout any scorch marks. Most had sterling reviews which was a plus as well as those who may have purchased another brand that cost much less were sorely dissapointed in their buy.

We HATE ironing. Now let me explain my situation. It takes less than two minutes to steam my slacks. I would highly recommend it. Some say this doesn't replace an iron, but if one never existed (like in my case), it's all you need. This product works great. It's ready to use in a few minutes and works very quickly.

My wife wears scrubs everyday and I wear slacks and polos, we are now wrinkle free thanks to this product. I would recommend buying the board you can get as an option as it would make it easier to use. I am going to purchase it soon. My wife's and my idea of ironing something is throwing it the dryer, warming it up , and shaking the wrinkles out.
