If you love to bake but are disheartened by cookies and pastries that burn and stick, you'll certainly appreciate this flexible, non-stick Exopat Baking Mat, often referred to as Silpat. Made in France, the mat promotes even browning without burning, and easy removal from the pan without sticking. To use, simply place the mat on your baking sheet ??? no greasing required. Place your cookies or pastries on top of the mat and bake in the oven as you normally would. After baking, simply remove the mat, shake it clean and store it away until next time. The mat is freezer safe and can withstand oven temperatures up to 580 degrees. Use it over and over - it's guaranteed to last up to 3,000 bakings.
Made of slippery silicone, the Exopat baking mat prevents cookies and pastries from sticking, eliminating the need for parchment paper, nonstick cooking surfaces, and the greasing of baking sheets. It measures 16-1/2 by 11-5/8 inches, wipes clean with a sponge, is heat- safe to 580 degrees F, can be used 2,000 to 3,000 times, and is an essential tool for an avid baker. --Fred Brack

Matfer Exopat 11-5/8-by-16-3/8-Inch Nonstick Baking Mat Reviews
I was a little leery of these from the bad reviews of them smoking and burning but decided to give them a try anyway when I found them on special. I highly recommend them. The cookies brown more evenly and come off so easily. I've used them for cookies and they do help immensely. I've now used them and wish I had more in different sizes.
It seems to perform as promised, but I haven't used it enough yet to see if it works better than the good non-stick baking pan I have. This is the first time I have used a nonstick baking mat.
I bought 2. Your cookies just slide right off. It seems to help prevent from burning the bottom of the cookies aswell. I love this product.
Definitely recommend the product and seller. I would love more, but the person selling only had three and I gave two to my daughter. I love the baking mats.
Needless to say, I am disappointed. some common ingredient in baked goods. It was a little difficult to get the brown spots that. It was great at first. Sure enough, it was. But every time I baked, even when nothing burned, my smoke detector would go off.
The next time I baked frozen Pilsbury cinnamon rolls (which sent the smoke detector into a high-pitched rage last time) with nothing but aluminum foil on my cookie sheet, everything was fine. I just moved into a new apartment, and bought this for all my baking needs. causes off, but in general I was happy. Everyone else can bake with an electric oven and keep the smoke alarm from going off.It must be the baking mat. At first, it was obvious to me that it was the electric oven; it was just too hot and I was used to gas. But that didn't seem right.
Stuff really won't stick to this guy.
