And it looks very good too. This is a medium weight set that is perfect for a family with 16 spoons, forks, etc. so that you don't run out of them. If you want a heavy weight flatware set then look somewhere else.
I put enough pressure on the metal but it did not even make a dent. Hope this helped. I was hesitant to purchase these because of the reviews, but I am happy that I did get them. When I opened the package the first thing I tried was to attempt to bend a fork. They are strong and durable. However, I did think the flatware caddy was a little on the cheaply made side - you can buy one like that at a dollar store. I am very pleased with this set and it is perfect for a large family that has children who like to abuse flatware. They were at a Lightning Deal price of $59.99.
I don't think these are worth $110. These are only 18/0 stainless steel.they are not that strong and bend easily. Once these are out of commission, I am going to invest in high quality 18/10 stainless steel pieces. After some research, I have discovered that buying 18/10 stainless steel is much better. For under $50, I think these are okay. . They also have scratched easily also.
The "caddy" is a cheap balsa wood sorter which I've already relegated to paintbrushes, and the metal on these is not as heavy as I was expecting from previous Oneida sets. I bought this set when it was super cheap on a Friday Sale due to frustration with my sister's choice of plastic and pot metal from Wal-mart, so my standards were pretty low. Overall, I'm very pleased. They're not for best, but if you have a problem with losing forks or are looking to entertain a lot of people, it's certainly worth the investment. However, they are quite strong and maintain their shiny finish very nicely even in less than ideal conditions, they look nice and go with everything, and I have yet to bend a serving spoon trying to scoop out ice cream. The serving pieces are nicely decorative as well. However, I find myself pleasantly surprised.
