It makes for a pleasant presentation, without being too elegant for everyday use. Our team doesn't treat these with any respect at all, yet most of the items are perfectly in tact years later, with some scratch marks of course. I think our knives are different, because there is no way the handles could spin around as one reviewer noted; ours are solid one-piece construction, but still the flight pattern. I use this product for large banquetssometimes as large as 1500 people.
It does call for special care, though. The service is lovely, a joy to use.
I was still pleased with the new flatware. The design is the same, but it is not as heavy as my old set. I bought it to go with a set that I have had for years.
