Oneida Moda 65-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 12
Gracefully angular, the Moda pattern squarely fits the bill at both formal and casual occasions. A sleek, contoured handle design provides comfort as well as understated contemporary style. Crafted of 18/0 stainless steel, this set is as sophisticated as it is durable. Includes twelve 5-piece place settings with each of the following: dinner fork, dinner knife, salad fork, soup spoon and teaspoon. Also includes a serving spoon, butter knife, serving fork, sugar spoon and pierced serving spoon. Comes in a wooden caddy.
Moda first stands out for its strong, clean lines. Showing just a hint of detail, each blunt handle end lifts up off the table slightly, and features a curved depression framed by the square sides. Pick up a Moda piece, and the craftsmanship is evident. Each 18/10 stainless-steel piece feels weighty, smoothly polished, and well-balanced, making eating with this pattern a pleasure. Mirror-bright and dishwasher-safe, Moda flatware makes a timeless, everyday flatware choice that dignifies special occasion dining as well. Containing 12 place settings, this set allows a dozen friends and family members to come together for an anniversary celebration or holiday feast. Each place setting consists of a dinner knife, dinner fork, salad fork, soup spoon, and teaspoon. Also included in the 65-piece set is a five-piece hostess set, consisting of two serving spoons, one of which is pierced; a cold meat fork; pointed butter knife/cheese spreader; and squared spoon for sugar or jam. Oneida tucks in a wooden drawer caddy to hold the set, and covers the flatware with a full 25-year warranty. Moreover, not only is a registered Oneida flatware pattern available for a lifetime, the pattern name is backstamped on each Oneida teaspoon. That means years from now, should you or your heirs forget the name, the pattern can be easily recognized and reordered. --Ann Bieri What's in the Box 12 place settings and 1 hostess set. Oneida Moda 65-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 12 Reviews
I have not seen any deterioration in appearance. Aside fro that, i would definitely recommend this set that is reasonably priced, looks great, wears well, and even includes a storage tray. I originally purchased this pattern from a B&M houseware retailer and I have been very pleased with it. I have used them for about three weeks now and they take the abuse of the scrubby side of sponges and dishwasher washings well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I have been looking to expand the set and have not seen any additional pieces (i.e. additional server's pieces and individual pieces, like the butter spreader, for sale). It is just the right weight to make it comfortable and the edges are all rounded so that there aren't any uncomfortable positions when using them.
I really wanted to love this set the design is simple, yet elegant. It's super annoying. I can't understand why the manufacturer would weight the end so much heavier than the front. Our main issue is that the end of the utensil is so heavy that it falls off the plate unless it has a piece of food attached to the end to balance the weight at the back. We received the set as a wedding gift, but are pretty disappointed with them.
This stuff was made in China. We recently bought a few sets of Onieda flatware (Simba pattern) to replace 20 plus year old flatware. I would suggest you look at other brands before buying Onieda flatware. I think you get what you pay for when it comes to flatware. Inferior product. I am trying to return it and get my money back, but I'm getting a luke warm response from Onieda. In just a few months spots of rust are starting to show on these pieces.
You can't go wrong if you purchase it. This set is exactly all that. I was looking a heavy flatware set that would stand up to every day usage, still look nice and not spend a fortune for it either.
Oneida Moda flatware met all of my six specifications. After viewing the online pictures, I took a chance and ordered the flatware set. You'll be more pleased with the results. With a little extra care, you can have affordable, beautiful, sturdy flatware that can be handed down to future generations. You will not be disappointed with this flatware set. After intensely shopping in stores and online, I came across the Oneida Moda 65-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 12 on Amazaon. Read the Oneida care instructions once you open the package.
Highly recommend to wash good flatware by hand. I first washed a few pieces in the dishwasher and the flatware spotted (like the care instructions stated they would). I then immediately washed those same pieces by hand and the spots disappeared. What I wanted in new flatware was the following: (1) 18/10 Stainless Steel; (2) high shine; (3) pattern that can go from formal to casual dining; (4) heavy duty flatware; (5) classic design; (6) Oneida's reputation.
