Oxo Good Grips 15-by21-Inch Cutting Board, Black Edge

From Oxo Good Grips, this cutting board has soft, tapered grips for easy lifting and nonslip edges. Use both sides for cutting and you'll cut down on chances of cross contamination. Dishwasher-safe.

Thanks to great materials and a smart design, this cutting and carving board from OXO makes prepwork faster, safer, and easier to clean up. Created from a thick piece of nonporous and odor-resistant polypropylene, the board features hand-friendly tapered grips that serve the dual purpose of slip-resistance. And, because both sides are designed for chopping, you can slice raw chicken on one side then flip it over to dice onions on the other without cross-contamination. Knives like this cutting board, too, because it maintains sharp edges while resisting deep scratches. A helpful juice groove keeps liquids off the countertop, and the whole board goes in the dishwasher for convenient cleanup. Measuring 15 by 21 inches, the piece is white with black edges. Two smaller versions are also available. --Emily Bedard

Oxo Good Grips 15-by21-Inch Cutting Board, Black Edge Reviews

as advertised It is the right size and words well. Not sure what to write about a cutting board.

Overall, I've been very pleased. It's a simple idea, but makes moving the board, or flipping it a piece of cake. It's a good size, and while a heavy blade may leave a small impression,I think that you can expect some degree of that no matter if you are using wood, bamboo, or a synthetic. I really like the way that the edges stay off of the counter top.

By the time I was finished carving the turkey, my cat had a feast before we even sat down. But here I am at Thanksgiving, with a cutting board I only saw on the internet. I love "most" OXO products.

I bought it for the size, and this I can tell was fine on the internet. Having said that, I was surprise when I used this cutting board. OXO, you blew it on this one. Here's why: I have granite counter tops.the thing was sliding all over the place. Also, the reservoir to catch the juices.too shallow. They usually think out an old existing kitchen tool and make it better w/o being too hi-techy in funtion but mod enough to fit today's styles.

And because it was OXO, I trusted the brand.big mistake. Juice and meat was dripping off the counter onto the floor. And cutting a turkey even with an electric knife, you need stability. It has no bottom grip. If I had seen it in the store, maybe I would have reconsidered buying it.

I have noticed the fact that the surface gets marred pretty quickly with use but it is a cutting board and I don't mind. Other people may have larger sinks than me, but that is something you should consider when buying. I bought this board for its size. The channels around the edges are also nice for catching liquid when carving a bird so spillage isn't a problem. The material is non-porous and solid all the way through. My only real problem with it is that the board is so large it doesn't easily fit in my sink and that makes it really hard to clean it. One of the other reviewers mentioned that they think this helps bacteria to grow, but I don't think that is the case. 15 by 21 inches is large enough to handle chopping or prepping almost any quantity of food I deal with when cooking for two.

I would have expected the board to be a lot more durable and not be so easily scratched up. It's non skid and set up so it doesn't rock while you cut. We usually really like OXO products, which is why we purchased a cutting board from them. It also has a very clever channel on one of the sides to keep liquid from running onto your counter.

Even cheap boards we have purchased lasted longer than this board did. The only complaint we had about the cutting board was that our knife cut huge grooves into the board material on the first use. Not only does this make it very difficult to scrape up food once you've cut it, but it also leaves the board susceptible to bacteria. The board is almost everything you'd expect an OXO product to be.
