And it also handles the dishwasher very well. It also turns out to be very handy when you need to deal with claws: first you crack them and then you extract the juicy meat with the tiny forks, which have two different tips: a fork and a spatula. Like most Oxo products, this seafood set is of excellent quality.
I would have to concur with an earlier reviewer that the package is a big pain to open. Once you get past that though, nothing but quality. The crackers feel solid in the hand and are easy to grip. I cook a lot of Alaskan King Crab Legs so was looking for something to give my hands a break. They worked well in breaking up different sized crab legs.
I literally had to use a big cutting knife to get everything out. The little scoopers make it convenient to get the meat out of the hard to reach areas. First of all, these look great, sleek silver with black rubber grips.
Overall a great buy I would recommend. The handles provide great grip and comfort. The spoon/forks work well but not as well as expected. The perfect set.
Many sets are available for half or less. Everyone loves them. So far, no rusting or chipping. I have not compared the quality of the cheaper sets.
This set is expensive. We have two and have given 2-3 as gifts. Just the right weight. They feel good and are easy to use. They are solid and sturdy.
That's the reason for only 4 stars.
