some uncomfortable metal handles. I like OXO products generally, from ok to nice to look at, usually have a solid feel and very nice ergonimically. Wish I had chosen a different upgrade, the search continues for a better grater, $15 down the road. My big complaint is that while it looks a bit nicer than my old chefmate (very cheap grater), it cuts the same and it actually feels flimsier (The steel body has some bend while grating) even my chefmate didn't do that. The catch-cup is nice. It cuts just ok, not amazing as some reviews stated. This grater makes no improvements in ergonomics outside of the plastic handle vs.
Best price here than I've found elsewhere, too. Sturdy construction, sharp cutters, great handle, non-wobbly during use. The plastic collection box is fairly useless for me, although that is certainly not a downside. Outstanding product, as are all the others I have purchased over the years from Oxo.
It's a strong box grater too which I'm sure will be around for a very long time. I love the fact that the container on the bottom hold all the gratings.
After all my years of grating cheese onto wax paper or into bowls with half of it falling on the table, here comes Oxo with the built in bowl and a storage lid for leftovers no less. Awesome. I love it when someone comes along and creates something with "practical" written all over it.
