Oxo Good Grips Cake Tester

How to know when the cake is done? There's the broom bristle method (yuck), the finger tap method (unreliable), and the toothpick method (only works with shallow cakes). If you love to bake make sure you get the best results for your efforts and use a real, genuine cake tester.

Oxo Good Grips Cake Tester Reviews

If you're a life time baker this is definitely for you. It's just great because I don't have to continue buying toothpicks or skewers to check cakes and breads. It is so thin and works well.

Always used toothpicks but when I bought this I love it and never forget to get it out when baking.

Tired of the toothpick not being long enough or the butter knife that leaves an ugly slit/cut in your baked creation. For $2.00 it's well worth it, and for that price everyone should have one. The only reason I give it four stars instead of 5 is because the rod can easily be bent if you apply to much pressure or just throw in a drawer with other utensils. Sturdy finger grip and long stainless steel rod makes it so much easier to test for "done-ness". If you are, then this is the product for you.

so far i've used it on everything BUT cakes but it does its job, good quality handy i like the circle on top so i can fasten it to the dishwasher basket and its length is just perfect. if i continue i'll be a full OXO household i love OXO. and i like that unlike knives it really doesnt RUIN the testing area. no more burnt fingertips trying to tap hot baking goods. no more underdone bundt cakes.

This tester has a nice long length and I like the handleYou don't have to worry about it getting lost in a drawer. I've had my eye on this little gem for a while, and once my toothpick supply started to dwindle, I went ahead and ordered it. . I know some people have mentioned that it is "too thin." It IS thin, but I think that's great. I have been known to get a little poke-happy with my cakes and bread in my attempts to achieve baking perfection, so I don't want them to look like they've been stabbed repeatedly. I am really glad I did because it seems like such a waste to use a toothpick one time, only to toss it in the trash.
