I will certainly be using this product as part of housewarming gifts in the future. I use mine often and have had no problems. Solid, durable spoon made from one piece of wood.
This is a sturdy spoon with a long handle. Other than this minor inconvenience, I much prefer cooking with this spoon to the plastic ones on the market. The spoon takes longer to dry after washing, than plastic. Mine seems to be one piece and I have no problem with it splitting, for this reason. It is very nice to cook with.

This is one quality, product. It is definely a professional product. I wanted something that was lighter to handle. I was looking for a spoon,not as good, as this. The Beechwood is ideal for this product.
