Not sure I NEEDED this but the price was right and it is part of the dinnerware that I am collecting.
I use mine throughout the holidays and winter, it is just so very pretty and does a great job on keeping butter fresh. This is SUCH a great deal here on amazon. But, that said, this is a gorgeous butter dish and a beautiful addition to your holiday table. by just popping it on the top shelf of a dishwasher. Mine has been used for 12 years and still looks new. Plus, it's VERY easy to clean (don't you love scraping those butter pieces off). I paid more than this at an outlet.
It is a butter vdish that is too small to properly hold a cube of butter.
