All kitchen and sporting knives, whether professional quality or inexpensive, need a blade tune-up now and then. This electric sharpener produces razor-sharp edges using the same rapidly rotating Sapphirite grinding wheels used by professional shops. A two-stage system allows knives to be ground and sharpened on the Stage 1 half of the machine, and then honed on the Stage 2 half. Blade guides hold the knife at the ideal sharpening angle for each side of the blade, as it is drawn slowly towards the user and kept parallel to the countertop. The sharpener is suitable for knives made of alloy, carbon, or stainless steel; it is perfectly normal for sparks to fly when knives of high carbon steel come in contact with the Sapphirite wheels. Non-electric serrated knives that are only serrated on one side can also be sharpened with this machine. Three suction cups on the bottom hold the sharpener securely on a table or countertop, and two receptacles underneath catch metal filings for disposal. The sharpener measures 8-1/4 by 5-3/4 by 4 inches, and is covered by a two-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

Presto Pro EverSharp Electric Knife Sharpener Reviews

I should have bought this long time ago - highly recommended. : ). I bought the Presto Pro Eversharp Electric Knift sharpener 2 weeks ago and has been using it to sharpen all my kitchen knives and it works like wonder.

Do not apply pressure and press the knife down. Both sides employ separate rotating grinding disks. I was skeptical when I bought this because of the price - compared to other sharpeners.

You first pass the knife on the left side course grinder for 12 seconds (6 seconds for the right side of the blade and then another 6 seconds for the left side). It works and is easy to use. The whole process takes about 30 seconds. It took all my dull knives and sharpened them to easily cut tomatoes. This sharpener is great.

After which you sharpen the blade another 12 seconds on the fine grit sharpener. CAVEAT: when sharpening, make sure to draw the knife in a steady continuous motion. If the blade hasn't been sharpened for a while you will need to do this process about twice. This sharpener really works. The left side sharpener is a course grinder while the right side is a fine grit sharpener.

Great little product. So sitting there at the Hibachi bar I had an epiphany. Where better to look than the place that I bought my knives: Amazon. And voilà. I said, man I gotta get a set of knives like that.

Type in: Knife sharpener. It called out in my head."Buy a better knife sharpener.". Henckels Twin Signature 7-Piece Knife Block Set). I recently ate at a local Japanese Hibachi Bar and I was more amazed by how sharp the knives that the chefs were using than the tricks that they performed as they cooked my meal. Turn it on.

A voice. Stop reading my goofy review and add it to your cart. A Master Chef can clank that wand back and forth against the blades of his knives with great precision to create a razor sharp cutting tool. I, on the other hand, somehow seem to have made the blades of my knife set duller using the dog-gone wand. To sharpen: apply very little pressure.run your blade 3 times through both slots on the left side of the toaster.er.I mean.sharpener; to hone: again.not too much pressure.run your blade 3 times through both slots on the right side of the sharpener.

The Presto Pro is pretty cool: a 4-slot little machine that looks like a mini-toaster. Woo-hoo. A few years ago I bought a new set of knives from Amazon (J.A. Lo and behold: dozens of choices of knife sharpeners. You're cutting through meat and veggies like a Master Hibachi Chef.

The Presto Pro EverSharp Electric Knife Sharpener has a lot of high ratings; it's inexpensive.give it a try. Try I did, and the knives in my set are now sharper than they were when they arrived new. The problem with this excellent set of knives is that the sharpener that came with it is one of those steel wands.

Investigation showed that vibration in the engine had caused it to break two of its 4 mounting points. So into the garbage with it I owned this for about a year. Last week I tried to use it and the motor wouldn't turn. Thus one of the grinding wheels was touching the internal casing. It must have been coming loose for a while as the vibration had bent the shaft slightly which means the whole thing runs out of balance. These are just simple screws into very thin plastic. It work great but constant use took its toll.

I've never before been able to sharpen our kitchen knives nearly this sharp without much more effort. Works well, very much worth the price.
