Proctor Silex K2070H 1-Quart Automatic Electric Kettle, White Reviews
Works great for boiling water for Tea. I like the detachable cord feature and the compact design of the kettle. I had to boil and discard the water a few times before I started using the kettle as it has quite a strong smell of plastic initially. Like many others said earlier, the lid does not open and shut smoothly.
1) The cord it comes with is only about two feet long. I had a longer one lying around from my old printer. I've had this kettle for three months now and it's worked like a charm. Thankfully, the cord is pretty generic. 2) After a couple of months of daily use the heating irons will start to accumulate water mineral deposits. This may not be enough if you're planning to turn it on and leave the room and/or use it in a noisy environment.
A full container boils in about a minute or two and shuts of automatically. Then pour in about a half cup lemon juice, two cups water, boil and pour out. Pour in about one cup vinegar, three cups water and boil. It comes out like new and the vinegar smell virtually disappears. I use it to boil water for tea, oatmeal and cup o' noodles ever so often. I've cleaned it in the following way and it's flawless:.
3) When the kettle shuts off automatically it doesn't beep, you just hear the click of the boil switch as it goes back to off mode. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this little boiler. Let sit about 15-20 minutes and pour out. Three things to watch out for though:.
What is there not to like. Easy to use. Heats a full quart of water in under 5 minutes.
I am very pleased with this electric kettle, which I use at my desk at work. The only thing that we both noticed is that the cord is very, very short & an extension cord is almost essential. It works very well & is very convenient for office use. My co-worker also ordered the same one.
