Progressive International Onion Chopper
The feisty onion brings flavor to an array of culinary delights, and more often than not, tears to the cook. This clever Onion Chopper dices onions in one swift motion, minimizing odors and reducing tearing. Handy enclosed container with non-skid feet doubles as a measuring cup and holds up to 2 cups of chopped onions. Includes lid cleaning tool. Dishwasher safe.
Work smarter, not harder with Progressive International's helpful onion chopper. Just slice an onion in two, set half on the stainless-steel blade, then close the hinged plastic lid. Voila! Dice onions without all the mess, odor, or time-consuming cleanup. The reinforced storage container is clear so it's easy to see how much you've chopped, and measurements up to two cups are printed on the sides. The compact tool stands on four round feet that keep it secure on the countertop or table. When the top is closed, the blade is protected and safely away from a busy chef's hands. This chopper stores easily in a drawer and comes with a tool to clean the lid easily. --Kara Karll

Progressive International Onion Chopper Reviews
I also like the fact the it is dishwasher safe. It saves so much time chopping. I really like the way this chopper works.
Makes quick work of onions and bell peppers. I'm not a big guy, but I am a guy. Oh, and don't ever try to dice a tomato with this. :)
I love this thing. It does take a bit of effort. It's not pretty. I can understand how an older woman might not have as much fun as I do hammering down on vegetables.
That the bottom section is graduated, allowing you to measure without transferring to another container, is a nice feature. The other reviewers do have a point.
In addition, the onion must be cut into such small sections by hand before it can be put into the chopper, that it defeats the purpose. It took me ages to clean both of those parts by hand after it had gone through an unsuccessful dishwasher cycle. The lid/pusher is also extremely difficult and time-consuming to clean, even with the included scraper. I chop a lot of onions in my house - I mean, a lot - and I've wished for one of these choppers for a long time.
Boy, what a disappointment. It may be dishwasher safe, but the dishwasher can't get the tiny holes in the blade, nor the grooves in the lid, clean. In addition, as I attempted to use the chopper subsequent times (I really wanted to like it; I hoped it would, "grow" on me), I found it very difficult to chop even small sections of large onions. Definitely not a recommended item. I'll take my cutting board and a plain ole' knife any day. So it really isn't satisfaction guaranteed at all, it's just warranted against breakage. This item came with a satisfaction guarantee (the reason I finally purchased it, as the guarantee was noted on the outside of the box), so I decided to get a refund.
I finally allowed myself to buy one a few weeks ago. I can literally chop up an onion by hand faster and easier than I can with this item, and cleanup is a WHOLE lot faster that way. When I called the company, however, they informed me that the guarantee only covered replacement with an identical item (this was not noted on the package). It would leave the outermost layer of the onion uncut, and no matter how much force I put into leaning on the lid, it would not cut through the last part of the onions. I ended up with quite a bit of waste. The first time I used it I thought, "Well, it's not great, but at least it does the job." Then I tried to wash it - yikes.
Make sure you do not lose the cheaning tool; it is a must and makes cleanup easy. This was a a gift. I own and have recommended this chopper to many friends. A repurchase.
For onions, just make 3/4 in slices and cut for easier use after removing outer tough layer, that can be chopped separately. After two years of constant use, the hinge shattered, and I ordered my second one immediately. I find it useful for chopping celery, carrots, and potatos. This is my second one.
