Rösle Can Opener

This deceptively simple tool puts its streamlined design to effective use. The opener basically pulls apart the seam that connects can side from can wall. Easy to operate and small enough to tuck neatly into a drawer. Or, thanks to the loop handle, you can hang it on a Rosle rail.

One of Rösle's superb kitchen tools, this 8-inch can opener is brilliantly designed to provide safety and hygiene. Instead of cutting down through a lid, as conventional openers do, it smoothly cuts along the side of a can's rim. That means it doesn't leave behind a hazardous sharp edge and the lid can't fall into the can. It also means the opener never touches the can's contents. Like all Rösle tools, utensils, and Open Kitchen storage components, the opener is made primarily of 18/10 stainless steel, although this tool has a rugged plastic head. The round handle is stainless steel with a satin finish to conceal finger marks. The handle is sealed against water and has a hanging ring so the opener can be conveniently stored on a hook in the Open Kitchen system of Rösle basic rails and Gridwalls or hung on any hook or peg. The opener is sturdy, balanced, and exceptionally comfortable in the hand. All Rösle products are made in Germany and carry a lifetime warranty against defects. The can opener should be hand washed to protect its cutting wheel. --Fred Brack

Rösle Can Opener Reviews

The Rosle can opener stopped opening cans after about seven months. Rösle Can Opener. Save money and frustation; don't buy this Rosle can opener. The Chefmate is also easier to operate ergonomically. My wife purchased a replacement from Target made by Chefmate for $9. It has performed superbly for two years. I purchased this can opener because I did not want sharp edges from opened cans around the kitchen or in the garbage.

Very nice. The others have a little trouble getting the lid off once the opener is used but the Rosle just needs a flick of the wrist to lift it off. this is the best of the openers that leave the lid with the lip on and so it is not a sharp knife edge to cut yourself with.

Same experience as everyone else. You can bet that I won't be buying a Rosle again. I like the design, like the way it worked, and wish I didn't have to shell out for a new one. So I looked online to see if I was an isolated case. Sadly, I am not. I've loved this can opener, but recently, it's been flaking on me.

Nice, clean cut. It was a little tricky to use the first time, but once I got the hag of it everything was excellent.

It's great. This opener creates a lid that is easily lifted off the can. This is a very interesting can opener in that there are no sharp edges on the opened can.
