I am satisfied with the performance of the Sonic Blade, but the unit is bulky and hard to store.
I recommend this knife and Amazon is an excellent on-line source to buy from. It is easy to use and makes carving much easier. I bought this knife from Amozon and received it in a few days, great delivery.
"Yes", I did. I called to get a replacement battery and the operator asked, "Did you leave the battery in the charger.". My knife worked for about six months, gradually got slower and slower and then in another month just quit all together. Only that you ARE suppose to charge it for at least 10 hours before the first time you use it. You're never suppose to leave it in the charger for longer than 10 hours at a time".
This is a beautiful knife with the best looking blades on the market, but you just can't get enough power out of the battery operated system long enough to justify the price or be happy with it. Do your self a favor and buy an electric knife that plugs into an outlet. "Well" she says smugly, "That's why it quit. NO mention of not leaving the battery in the charger for more than 10 hours. That didn't explain why it worked just fine for the first six months, and, I hadn't recalled reading that in the instructions, which I HAD read front to back when I got the knife. I ordered a new battery anyway ($9.99 w/shipping) and went back and read through the manual three more times.
Not long enough to justify the price.
Very pleased with this purchase. The shipping was faster than expected, and the product was indeed as it was described online. I bought this knife for my boyfriend's father for his birthday, and he absolutely loves it.
